FAQ
Everything you need to know before you start.
For Option 2 (ready-made company) and Option 3 (VCC), no travel is required whatsoever. The entire process is remote — you notarize two documents at any notary with an apostille stamp in your country, or at the Bulgarian consulate. Only Option 1 (new company with a Bulgarian bank account) requires a short visit to Bulgaria, as banks require in-person approval to open an account.
For Option 2 (ready-made): approximately 2–3 weeks total — 4–5 days for initial registration, then 7–8 days after you return your notarized documents. For Option 3 (VCC): approximately 10–14 business days. The main variable is how quickly you can notarize and return the two documents.
Yes. Once the company is transferred to your name (Option 2) or registered directly in your name (Option 3 VCC), you can apply for Wise Business, Revolut Business, or similar modern online banking platforms. Bulgarian EU-registered companies are generally well accepted by these platforms.
Bulgaria has one of the lowest corporate tax rates in the EU at a flat 10%. When you distribute profits as dividends, an additional 5% dividend withholding tax applies — making the total effective rate on distributed profits just 14.5%. This compares very favourably to Western European countries where corporate tax alone can exceed 25–30%.
An EOOD is Bulgaria's standard single-member LLC — well-established, widely recognised. A VCC (Variable Capital Company) is a newer company type where: (1) capital is assigned via the Articles of Association rather than a bank deposit, (2) shares can be transferred with a simple written agreement instead of a notarized deed, and (3) it has a maximum annual turnover cap of €2,043,000. VCC is ideal for most small-to-mid businesses; EOOD suits those who may exceed that turnover or need a more traditional structure.
Yes — Bulgarian VAT registration is included in all three options at the stated price. You will receive a Bulgarian VAT number as part of the process. The standard Bulgarian VAT rate is 20%.
No. Non-EU citizens can register a Bulgarian company under Options 2 and 3 without any citizenship restriction. For Option 1 (with a Bulgarian bank account), most banks require EU residency and EU citizenship for the director/shareholder — which is why Options 2 and 3 are available as fully open alternatives for non-EU entrepreneurs.
For Option 2 (ready-made company), we email you 2 documents — typically a transfer deed and a shareholder declaration. These need to be notarized at any local notary and stamped with an apostille. If you use the Bulgarian consulate in your country, you receive a €70 discount on our total fee.
We require 50% payment in advance before beginning the process. The remaining 50% is due upon completion. If you're paying from an EU company account, provide your VAT number and we'll issue a proper invoice. For Option 1, the €200 bank assistance fee is charged only upon successful bank approval — we conduct a free pre-assessment first so you only proceed if your chances are genuinely good.
Yes. We also assist with company registration in Cyprus. Cyprus offers a 12.5% corporate tax rate, an extensive double-tax treaty network, and is a popular jurisdiction for holding companies and international trading structures.
